I am a licensed clinical psychologist with
generalist training and experience with a wide variety of presenting
concerns. My therapeutic style is collaborative and strength-based. My
work with clients is guided primarily by psychodynamic and
cognitive-behavioral approaches. However, I have been trained in many
methods of therapy, and I also integrate solution-focused, family
systems, narrative, and dialectical behavior therapy approaches,
depending on your needs. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University, whose program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). I also completed an APA-accredited internship in clinical psychology. I have more than 10 years of experience
working in various settings including community mental health centers, a
university counseling center, psychiatric hospitals, residential
facilities, schools, and private practice.
I am a member of professional organizations
including the APA, APA Division 42 Psychologists in Independent
Practice, and the Illinois Psychological Association (IPA).
I am continually amazed by the resilience shown by others. I do my best to live by the same principles I encourage in others, which means that I have an understanding of the level of effort and commitment required for personal growth.
